OTOBO is a fork of the OTRS 6 Community Edition. It has been actively developed by the community and developers since 2019, while the development of the OTRS 6 Community Edition has been discontinued. You can migrate your OTRS system to OTOBO yourself or we can do it for you. One thing is certain – processes, configurations, tickets, knowledge base articles, and attachments – nothing is lost.

Take the opportunity to optimize

The migration tool is server, location, operating system, and database independent. So, you can also switch to a new application server, a different operating system, or from an Oracle database to MySQL during the migration.

Migration to a Docker-based OTOBO instance

All migration strategies work for both Docker-based and native installations.

Since version 10.0.7, we recommend installation via Docker. This provides perfect conditions with just one click and makes administration easier in the future.

Migration of an Oracle-based OTRS Installation

Migration from an Oracle-based OTRS installation to an Oracle-based OTOBO installation is technically possible, but for performance reasons, we recommend using MariaDB or PostgreSQL.

Migration of OTRS 2 to OTRS 6 Community Edition

From your starting version, update OTRS until you reach the OTRS 6 system state. From OTRS 6 onwards, migration is possible via the interface of the migration tool.

Migration of OTRS 7 and OTRS 8

For the migration of all OTRS versions after version OTRS 6 Community Edition, adjustments to the migration tool are required. The effort is determined individually for each case. We are happy to assist you with this.
