I would like to add a field (drop down box) called Categories, is this possible? if so I would like to extend on this and have another field (sub categories), so this would be dynamic from the first category box

        is that possible?

        thanks

          Hi Jamie,

          yes, that’s possible.

          • First you need to create two fields at “Admin -> Dynamic Fields” (Category1 and Category2). On the top left side add a new field “Dropdown” of the type “Ticket”. When you create the fields, please enter the dropdown values here too.
          • Add the new field to the needed screens, using “Admin -> Dynamic Fields Screens”. Normally you need to add the field at least to the screens AgentticketPhone, AgentTicketEmail, AgentTicketFreetext, AgentTicketZoom, AgentTicketPrint, AgentTicketSearch and CustomerTicketMessage.
          • Next use “Admin -> ACL´s” to restrict the subcategory fields. Please have a look for the different possibilities at https://doc.otobo.org/manual/admin/stable/en/content/processes-automation/access-control-lists.html.

We work hard at the moment to create a better admin manual. But if you need assistance with the installation beforehand, please have a look at our various support packages at https://otobo.io/en/support/. Our support team will be happy to help you directly on your system with the creation of the fields and show you exactly how it is possible.

          Best wishes from Germany,

          Stefan

            Hello

I have got the same question and am as far (on 10.x in Docker) as having two mandatory drop downs in the ticket creation screen. Unfortunately the content of dropdown2 does not depend on what I select in dropdown1 which is a requirement.

Is there any ACL HowTo that would show me how to work with them if this is the way?

And regarding the tree option in the definition of the dynamic fields – no matter if I enable or disable this I don’t see a tree. How is this supposed to work? Maybe I could create dynamic fields in a way that they somehow nest and I would see two levels in the tree and could just click on the desired value ? Hard to describe but I hope anyone knows how I mean this.

            Thanks

            Thomas

                Hi Thomas,

please create a new forum topic, this topic is 4 years old and different. And it´s not possible to split the topic it at the moment.

                Thanks for your understanding!

                Stefan
